About RootCausa
A small, independent project building calm, practical resources for people managing long-term health conditions.
Why this exists
Living with a chronic condition means becoming, whether you wanted to or not, the project manager of your own health. You keep track of symptoms between appointments, notice what makes a bad week worse, remember which medication was tried in which order, and translate all of it into ten useful minutes with a clinician who has your file open for the first time in six months.
Most of the information available for that job sits at one of two extremes: clinical literature written for specialists, or forum threads where a single person’s experience is offered as a rule. RootCausa is an attempt at the middle ground — careful, readable writing, plus tools that fit into a day that is already full.
What RootCausa publishes
- Guides and explainers that stay in plain language and say clearly when the evidence is thin or contested.
- Self-management practices you can try, adapt, or abandon — tracking routines, pacing, preparing for appointments, managing energy.
- RootCausa Symptoms Tracker, a mobile app for logging how you feel and seeing the patterns that emerge over weeks rather than days.
How it is written
Articles aim to be specific about their sources and honest about uncertainty. Where something is one approach among several, it is described that way. Where the research genuinely disagrees, the article says so instead of picking the tidier answer.
Nothing here is personalised advice. A website does not know your history, your medications, or the three things your specialist is already watching. It can help you ask better questions — that is the whole ambition.
What RootCausa is not
It is not a diagnostic tool, not a replacement for medical care, and not a place that will ever sell your health data. There are no accounts to create and no advertising scripts on this site. If that ever changes, it will be stated plainly on the privacy page before it happens.
